Given the production characteristics of niche footwear models—customized shoes ordered in small batches and multiple runs—the new customized plastic mold development system, leveraging parametric design software and modular mold structures, has significantly shortened the custom mold development cycle from the traditional 15 days to just 3 days. As an example, the mold for a special-texture sole used by a certain handmade shoe brand was completed in only 2.5 days, from design to manufacturing. Moreover, the cost of mold modifications was reduced by 40%, effectively enabling niche footwear companies to respond swiftly to market demands.

Addressing the industry’s pain points of uneven cooling and low efficiency in injection molding of sport shoe soles, a new conformal cooling plastic mold has been developed using 3D printing technology to create cooling channels that precisely match the curvature of the shoe sole. Compared to conventional straight-channel molds, this new mold reduces the cooling time for shoe soles from 120 seconds to 72 seconds, boosting molding efficiency by 40%. At the same time, it effectively solves the problem of sole deformation, reducing the defect rate from 3.5% to 0.8%. Currently, this mold has been implemented in the production line for running shoe soles, helping to achieve a daily production capacity exceeding 50,000 shoe soles.
